Who is eligible for Motability?

At Research Garage Group we are dedicated to bringing you all the information you need to know about the Motability scheme, to help you find the vehicle which would be ideal for your motoring needs.

If either you or a relative currently receives the War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement or the Higher Mobility component of the Disability Living Allowance (DLA), then you are eligible for the Motability scheme.

To join the Motability Scheme, you must be in receipt of one of the following allowances:

Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS)
Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)

Around two-thirds of Motability customers drive, but if you’re incapable of drive, you can put forward up to two drivers free of charge and, optionally, a third at an additional cost. The drivers can be friends or family, but they should usually live within 5 miles of your address
